It was built as a Sheraton and was given the honor of being named "The Best New Hotel". It is now a Hilton Resort and has received the AAA Four Diamond award for 38 consecutive years. The Forbes Travel Guide (“FTG”), the world-renowned and only global rating system for luxury hotels recently gave the El Conquistador a STAR Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel award was also chosen as one of the Top 52 Hilton Hotels in the World.
